Lawrence “Krisna” Parker or as we know him KRS-One was raised in the Bronx and became an intricate part of Boogie Down Productions with Dj Scott La Rock in the late 1980’s. His second solo album contained “Rappaz R. N. Dainja” which was the first single from his self-titled album from 1995. DJ Premier used samples from Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, and Assagai to create the track. In the intro a number of big hip hop artists say positive things about KRS-One from MC Shan to Grand Wizard Theodore to Kool Dj Herc. Today marks the 20th anniversary of the single with braggadocious lyrics that was released in vinyl 12’ in 1995.
