Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and Rage Against The Machine members are forming a Supergroup

I hope everyone is putting their rally caps on while crossing their fingers and toes, the potential for an epic musical team-up is looking quite good.  According to Billboard.com’s sources, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, Cypress Hill’s B-Real and three-quarters of Rage Against The Machine – Guitarist Tom Morello, Bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk are forming a supergroup called Prophets of Rage.

A few days ago mysterious posters began spreading across L.A. and now a new website ProphetsOfRage.com has appeared with the hashtag #TakeThePowerBack.  The site contains a countdown that will hit 00:00 on June 1st.

The group’s name Prophets Of Rage appears to be taken from a Public Enemy song of the same name off their classic album It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. Across social media we’ve also seen Cypress Hill retweeting several photos that reference the group and Chuck D has also been praising Rage Against The Machine via twitter over the past few days. According to rumors the supergroup is rumored to debut at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3.
