“Get Money” – Junior M.A.F.I.A.-20 yrs later: Junior M.A.F.I.A (Master At Finding Intelligent Attitudes) was formed by The Notorious B.I.G. in 1994. The group was formed by combining a few groups and 2 individuals. The 6’s aka 666 consisted of Lil’ Cease, Bugsy, Capone, Chico and Nino Brown; The Snakes were made up of cousin Larceny and Trife; and the individuals were MC Klepto and Lil’ Kim. Biggie was the man in charge of everything and even said he was planning on retiring from rap music in 2000 just to manage the group. They all hail from different parts of NY from Bedford-Stuyvesant to Brooklyn to the city. Their debut album Conspiracy dropped in 1995 under the NYC-based Big Beat Records and Undeas labels. B.I.G. was featured on four tracks with their biggest hit single to date being “Get Money”.

“Get Money” dropped on September 3rd, 1995 and was the third and final single from their debut album. The track is a duet featuring Biggie and Lil’ Kim which sampled “You Can’t Turn Me Away” by Sylvia Striplin’s. The single ended up being certified platinum and also helped Lil’ Kim start her solo career. It sold 500,000 copies and peaked at #17 on the Billboard 100. It has since been featured in 8 Mile and Notorious –Biggies biography. The group fell apart after Biggie passed in 1997 and most of the members disbanded. Lil’ Cease, Larceny (now calling himself Banger) & MC Klepto reformed the group and dropped their sophomore album titled “Riot Musik” in 2005 which was highly criticized as a failure. Also in 2005 Lil’ Cease and Banger testified against Lil’ Kim which led to her and the group’s manager D-Roc doing some jail time. B.I.G. said it best… “Things Done Changed”
